Love at first click . . .
Hello my name is Natasha and I am a Blogging Virgin!
Agreed, I am very late to the party but here I am. Complete with my (necessary) coffee, log burner lit and Mac at the ready.
I would be telling lies if I said I hadn’t attempted the idea of a Blog before. I have. Several times! However, as much as I love to chat (friends and family will be nodding in agreement) I found putting pen to paper or finger to keyboard a little daunting. I guess capturing moments through a picture comes much more naturally than through literature. Even as a child, I would rush pages of my book just to admire the pictures, creating my own little story as I studied them intently.
I decided to take the plunge and do some Blog research, after reading a few I began to realise that it’s a really cool way to connect with people who appreciate similar things to you. Not so scary after all, maybe I WILL start my own Blog. That and the constant nagging from my sister, pushing and pleading with me to start writing . . . if your reading this Maxine, I’ve finally caved.
As a lot of you probably know I have my own Photography business, if you didn’t know that . . . then I am very surprised – I am quite familiar with ‘Facebook’ and have been known to post A LOT of work . . . on a daily basis. Sorry about that (hehe) but I have a business to run and two hungry little Diva’s to feed.
I thought about writing a small life story about where I studied Photography, my journey, trials and tribulations on the way but then I realised that if you’re anything like me you reallllllly don’t have the time or patience for that, so instead I thought I would just tell it how it is.
I’ve never really wanted to do anything else, even from a young age I knew that I wanted to take pictures. At family occasions I was always the one stealing the camera and ushering everybody to pose on my count. Some family members thought of it as bossy, I preferred efficient. Even behind the camera, I had that moody pout down way before ‘Gigi Hadid’ (see picture below).
For me Photography is magic, it’s about capturing those moments, the little moments that can sometimes be ignored. A flick of the hair, a sideward glance, a nervous smile and engaging with those quirky little mannerisms that we all own. A photo tells a story and the magical thing for me is that everybody’s story is different. Bringing me to naming my blog ‘Snaps&Stories’ because for no other reason than it just fits.
So, there it is my first Blog and nobody died . . . phewf! I think it is fair to say you will be seeing and reading a lot more from me.
Lots of Love
